Dr. Schwager believes that time spent with the patient is essential to understanding and treating their problems, and he tries to make sure that each visit is unhurried. He takes his own history and does his own specialty-specific physical exam. He also believes that it is far better to spend lots of time with the patient or family preoperatively, explaining all aspects of the proposed surgery and answering all questions fully, rather than having to try to deal with unexplained issues afterwards.
Dr. Robert Schwager received an undergraduate degree with honors in Biology from Queens College, City University of New York and completed his medical training from The Medical College of Wisconsin. In 1980, he completed his residency at The University of Colorado at Denver.
Outside of work Dr. Schwager enjoys playing guitar, playing ice hockey, going to yard sales, photography, hiking in the mountains, skiing, and playing golf. |
